I’ve been through a score of emotions this Sunday (as with every SoccerSunday) – the Inter-Roma game brought me to my knees. My own game gave me anguish. But in the wake of it all, La Viola brought me to my feet with a solid win.
The 4-1 win against Udinese at home, pushed Fiorentina from the #10 spot up to the #8 in Serie A play. The match not only included five goals, but also 6 yellows (4 for Viola and 2 for Udinese). In the first half Vargas came in with a goal in the 36th minute putting Fiorentina ahead in the match, but Udinese quickly replied in the 41st minute with a goal of their own – bringing the score to a tie at the end of the first half.
But the second half would be different. In the 55th minute Alberto Gilardino tallied another goal for Viola. Nearly 15 minutes later, Mario Santana pushed Fiorentina ahead to 3-1. With less than ten minutes in regulation time, Steven Jovetic hammered the nail in the coffin with a fourth goal.
I can only hope that the next match, lined up against Parma brings a similar success. With only seven matches left in league play, we look forward to move upwards in the next games.
